Shane's bio

Shane heads up our Criminal Law and Child Protection department.

Formerly a Barrister in a private practice for 24 years, Shane specialises in representing clients on everything from simple driving offences before the Magistrates Court, to complex serious offences in the District and Supreme Courts.

​His clients appreciate Shane’s encyclopaedic knowledge of the law, and his dedication to vigorously pursuing the best possible outcome for them. He also enjoys well-earned respect from the bench who appreciate his strong advocacy skills.

​Shane also represents clients before the Mental Health Review Tribunal as well as acting as a Separate Representative, a specialist lawyer appointed by the Court to represent the interests of children involved in child protection proceedings. Shane also appears as Solicitor Advocate for our clients in domestic violence proceedings in the Magistrates Court.

​Outside the office Shane is a keen community fundraiser and enjoys spending time on his other love, poultry keeping.
